Pray

God delights in hearing our prayers, because He is a personal God. He delights in answering our prayers that are consistent with His will, because He is the God of the impossible. When we believe these, it’s easy to understand how our prayers have a strategic purpose in the work of communicating the Scriptures to predominantly oral societies. We invite you to join us in praising His name and seeking His provision.

Pray for language groups without Scripture
Each day that passes, people all around the world die without God’s message of hope in their heart language. There are 6,900 spoken languages in the world today. Over 2,000 of these languages do not have a single verse of Scripture in their languages. As He promised us: “Ask of me, and I will make the nations/ethne your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession” Psalm 2:8

PRAY FOR THE MESSAGE.

That the world’s last languages would receive the Scriptures in whatever form they need it.
That God would provide every ethnê in the world with the Scriptures – in their heart language and using appropriate EthnoArt forms specific for each community.
That the integrity of God’s Word would be maintained as it is translated into the remaining languages.

PRAY FOR LABORERS.

That the Lord of the harvest would send forth laborers, including EthnoArts laborers, to all the world’s least reached peoples.

PRAY FOR THE PEOPLE.

That all unreached people groups would hunger and thirst for God’s Word in their heart language.
That lives of those who live in unreached people groups would be transformed by the power of the Word of God.

PRAY FOR COMPLETION OF THE TASK.

That laborers would persevere and not grow weary in serving Him.

Pray for one PECOP missionary
Our people need your prayers. You have the opportunity to correspond with an individual or a family as you support them in prayer. Learn about their daily struggles and victories, and watch God answer your prayers in specific ways. You’ll form a special bond with those you pray for, and they will draw strength from knowing that you are interceding for them. We encourage you to connect with one of our missionaries and begin to partner with them through prayer.

Pray for current PECOP projects
Prayer is the most important support you can give. It’s the greatest, most strategic resource for the work of getting the Word of God to minority cultures in ways they understand best. You can make a difference today! Should the Lord move you to help us pray for any of our current projects, please write us briefly and we will get the information to you.

Why pray?
God has called us into a relationship with Himself. God wants to be in a relationship with us. Relationships require communication. Prayer is communication with a Holy God.

JESUS PRAYED.

Jesus, our supreme example, found it necessary to pray to His Father, even if He Himself was God.
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” Mark 1:35 (NLT)

GOD LISTENS TO US WHEN WE PRAY.

Almighty God cares for us and desires to hear us express what is on our hearts, even if He already knows these – just as loving parents desire to hear their children express what is on their hearts.
“In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for Me in earnest, you will find Me when you seek Me” Jeremiah 29:12,13 (NLT)

PRAYER DEVELOPS OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.

As in any relationship, frequent and regular two-way communication is one of the necessary factors that needs to done. For any relationship to grow, the desires of the heart need to be expressed both ways.
“I will bring that group through the fire and make them pure, just as gold and silver are refined and purified by fire. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, 'These are my people,' and they will say, 'The LORD is our God.' ” Zechariah 13:9 (NLT)

OUR LORD COMMANDS US TO PRAY.

One of the simplest reasons to spend time in prayer is because the Lord instructed us to pray. Obedience is a natural by-product of discipleship.
“Keep alert and pray. Otherwise temptation will overpower you. For though the spirit is willing enough, the body is weak! ” Matthew 26:41 (NLT)
“Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up” Luke 18:1 (NLT)

WHAT IF I DON’T KNOW HOW TO PRAY?

The Holy Spirit will help you in prayer when you don't know how to pray.
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.” Romans 8:26,27
